There was a good turnout for the formal AGM. |

Patrick gave a summary of the Club's year. |

Richard Culverhouse of CSCC explained their philosophy of running
meetings . |

Trophies ready and waiting. |
|

Sarah Harvey-Fern collects the Committee Trophy for her work
in the paddock and for double header entertainments. |

David Parkinson won the Quill Trophy for his unique and idiosyncratic
Startline pieces. He successfully dodged the snipers set up by deadly
Startline rival special correspondent Phil Moore. |

Former Club Secretary Phil Anstruther ran 2 sons in FVJ's in
1800 to win the President's Trophy as top 16/1800 mechanic. |

If only for his incredible rebuild of a shattered 398 at Spa
between practices, Magic Motorsport's Richard Whitefoot deserved
the Mechanic's Trophy (2000/1200). |
|

The ABC trophy, named after the Varley Battery founders, for
most impressive young driver (ie under 50 - though he really IS
young) went to Tristan Cliffe.
|

The Club Trophy, for the spirit which epitomises Mono, went
to David Parkinson (1600/1800). |

In 2000/1200 who could the David Combes Trophy for spirit of
Mono go to but Jim Blockley's rescuer at Spa, Tom Brown. Having
acquired a replacement for the BendiBus VDFI, expect to see Tom
battling at the front in 2008. |

Stroud resident Nick Catanzaro obviously has some Gloucestershire
Gossip for Mary as she gives him the Newbridge Trophy for best self
prepared car. Seriously, could anybody have challenged Nick for
this cup? |
|

Spheric Trophy for "Biggest Balls" went to Jeremy
Timms. Mary ensures that the ball is securely held. |

In 16/18 the Steve Pashley trophy for best self prepared car
went to Michael Dale, who has successfully kept his team of 20 race
professionals quiet. |

Most fastest laps gave Geoff Fern the Vindaloo Trophy for "Hottest
Driver". |

David Tilson was the most successful New Member, so logically
won the New Member trophy. |

It's probably Geoff Fern behind the late Alan Everitt's huge
Online-Landlord trophy for most points. Hope you've got a big sideboard,
Geoff |

Endeavour Trophy for member who most narrowly missed out on
a top 3 trophy went to Patrick Huston. As a former yacht racer,
the name "Endeavour" with its Sopwith connections meant
a lot to Patrick. Patrick acquired wings this weekend. |

Mono 1200S 3rd - Stephen Brooks. Stephen's 3(?) year old daughter
was utterly charming and perfectly behaved during the meeting and
lunch, so must take after her Mum. |

Peter Whitmore gained second in Mono 1200S.
|

David Tilson won Mono 1200F despite a few problems along the
way. |

David Parkinson was second in 1600, edging out Ewan Sergison.
What was that about old age and cunning will always beat youth and
talent? |

Geoff Fern won 1600 honours again, but only because of minor
things like preparation, talent, effort, consistency, work, the
team etc. |

Jim Timms upped the ante in 1800 by introducing the VDFI chassis
and came 3rd. Mary's either scared, amused, or practicing tug of
war. |

Second in 1800 went to Michael Dale. |

Pete Bragg deservedly won 1800 honours. I know everybody who
wasn't there will think the hat has been put on in Photoshop, but
he really was wearing it as a unique style statement. Somebody must
make those hats for a living, which is interesting. |

Surprisingly, Neil Harrison's award was for 3rd in the 2 litre
class and not for sartorial elegance. |

Jeremy Timms was back to the floor for second in the 2 litre
class. |

For the 3rd year running, Mark Harrison won the prestigious
2 litre trophy. Mark is said to be moving to Club F3 in 2008, but
hopefully we will see him from time to time. |

David Parkinson and Michael Dale decide whose trophy is biggest. |

General view |

Mary didn't get a bouquet, so here's one from Startline. Thanks,
Mary, for presenting the prizes and for keeping us all in good order. |
