November Director’s Meeting

2009 Season. Disappointingly, Peterborough Motor Club are no longer able to organise the long established meeting at Silverstone that has traditionally started our season. David Cox is drafting a letter of appreciation which will also express the club’s regret at the loss of this meeting.

Darlington and District MC have offered a suitable September date, directors wished to support this meeting.

Currently, BARC cannot offer any dates. Communication with some organisers has not produced anything significant, CSCC and BRSCC are the most likely providers of the bulk of next year’s races. At this early stage it is impossible to give any information about entry fees as the information is not yet available from the organising clubs.

Mono2000 Technical Regulations.

Directors voted to allow:
1. Formula Renault to BARC specifications (excluding ride height and tyres) will be allowed from 2009 onwards.
2. Formula 3 specification engines using a 24mm inlet restrictor will be allowed from 2009 onwards.
The above cars run as a new class in 2009.

Mono1000/1400 Technical Regulations.

Peter Whitmore stated that the meeting with Mono1200 competitors at Snetterton was a success (see elsewhere in Startline).
Directors voted that Mono1200F & S become Mono1000 and that the new class, Mono1400, be introduced for 2009.

Spa. There has been no communication between Spa and the club (or vice versa). This means that the MRC will not organise or support a meeting at Spa in 2009.

Championship Co-ordinator: a sub-committee was appointed to select a replacement for Mary Cox.

Club Administrator’s Report:
Directors agreed to increase membership to £30, championship registration to remain at £95.
Guest membership to be changed to £30/race.
Free championship registration for bona fide new drivers to be continued.
Driver complaints procedure to be continued into 2009.
It was agreed that the club book a stand at the Stoneleigh Show. A suitable car is required for display.

Rain-lights. MSA approved LED rain-lights are to be compulsory in 2009.

A.O.B. David Cox stated that he was going to stand down as Chairman in the New Year.
