| Snetterton 17/18 October The first race of the weekend left the 2000 championship open as Jeremy Timms got a first and fastest lap ahead of Tristan Cliffe, whilst Neil Harrison went home dejected, convinced of a championship lost as he had buzzed the engine in the Dallara. Nick Anstruther won the Classics ahead of Richard Purcell but third for Russ Giles clinched the championship. In the same race, Nigel Smith stormed the 1600's, but fourth for Dave Parkinson was enough to secure a well deserved 1600 championship for the popular class stalwart. In the Saturday 1000/1400/1800 race, Kat Impey walked it from Stuart Digby and Geoff Fern, while the Empire returned in the hands of ace hillclimber Dave Kimberley. Jim Timms had a lonely win but the others in 1800 had a fantastically close race, with Phil Nicholson second. On Sunday, with Neil back in Kidderminster, the ignition lurghi struck poor Jeremy Timms. Intermittent fault is something hated by roadcar drivers, even more by racers. Knowing he needed just a finish, Jeremy tried to run Jim's FIreland. No luck, and as the Dallara stopped (after a lap record) Tristan won the class (on Avons, we think) from Amnon Needham, and Neil was champion. Nick A again won classic from Richard Purcell.and Nigel Smith from Geoff Fern in 1600 with Dave "Jenson Button" Parkinson third. In the 1000/1800, Kat stalled on pole and an unsighted Bill Janson had nowhere to go. Bill lost a side, Kat a rear. Stuart Digby had a win in the truncated race with Geoff Fern next. Peter Whitmore won 1400, and Phil Nicholson won the 1800 class. Reports to follow. Congratulations to Neil Harrison, Russ Giles, Graham Reed, Peter Bragg, David Parkinson, Stephen Brookes and Chris Woodhouse.
