1000 and 1400 Class Representative

When Peter Whitmore and Stephen Brookes left the board earlier this year, we not only lost 2 highly respected and hard working board members but we also lost both representatives of the motor cycle engined classes.

The board is aware that members racing in these classes need a way to raise issues with the board. Whilst all board members hope that we're approachable and friendly in the paddock, and we welcome the input of any 1000 or 1400 drivers who may wish to discuss class matters with us, there is no doubt that a class representative is preferable. To this end we have approached an ideal candidate who has expressed a willingness to join the board in this role, but for various reasons is unable to do so immediately.

Accordingly until we have a named 10/14 representative, Simon Davey, who is of course present at all meetings, has agreed to act as the representative and class matters can be directed to him.

In the meantime, if anybody believes that they can take on the role, we would be delighted to hear from you since we have had 2 motorcycle engined board members in the past and there is no reason why we should not in the future. The key attributes of such a board member would be:

• a strong technical understanding of the cars in the class
• a regular competitior in the 1000/1400 and likely to continue
• approachable in the paddock
• able to easily attend 5-6 board meetings per annum which are held near Banbury.
