Silverstone GP 1/2 October 2010: The Ray Dackombe Memorial Trophy Races

Entry Forms and Regulations for these non-Championship Monoposto races are now available.

This is the Britcar 24 hrs meeting and will take place on the Silverstone Bridge GP Circuit. A map of the circuit is attached. There will be one grid of 44 cars for this event, with one Qualifying session and two Races. The entry fee has been held at £295, so this is excellent value.

The outline schedule is:
- Friday afternoon 1st October: 20 minute Qualifying Session: for each competitor fastest time sets grid position for Race 1, second fastest time sets grid position for Race 2
- Friday afternoon 1st October: Race 1: 20 minutes
- Saturday 2nd October: Race 2: 20 minutes

In addition to Awards to the first three in each Class for each race, the Ray Dackombe Memorial Trophy will be presented to the competitor who scores the most points (awarded as if for Championship rounds) over the two races.

We are expecting this to be a very popular event, so you advised to send in your entry (click here) as quickly as possible. Regs are here. We will not be banking entry fee cheques or processing card payments until the Closing Date 14 days before the event. At that time we will also notify whether your entry is accepted.

Footnote: This meeting uses the "old" GP circuit and therefore includes Bridge. Asst ed once stopped the late Denis Jenkinson and asked him where to watch qualifying from - he recommended Bridge. It is widely regarded as a great, classic corner and the only reason it's been dropped is so that Bernie's lot can park their Paddock Club somewhere a bit flatter and bigger.
