| Mallory Park 29/30 August Quick Report Mainly sunny, some dark spells The headline sums up the weather, with Monday being bright and Sunday dull with showers, but the racing was generally excellent with some very pleased people. Russ Giles for one who led for over half of a very competitive Classic race until an engine hesitation delayed him, Malcolm Scott won the Sunday 2000 race in a Van Diemen spaceframe, Jock Sergison triumphed in a fast and furious 1800 race, and whilst hillclimber Chris Hill had a couple of spins which knocked him down the 1000/1400 order he had a great race and actually led off the line. Downsides were a very nasty accident from which Geoff Fern walked away, and on Sunday outside our races a Ferrari Dino leapt the barriers at Devils Elbow and caught a recovery vehicle operator. Initial news was that both were not too bad, but the club sends both best wishes for a speedy recovery. Full marks to CSCC for dragging the meeting back to schedule after about 90 minutes delay by cutting out all of the fat and running one of the slickest meetings I've seen. Special thanks to the marshalls who agreed to forego lunch so we could all play according to a reasonably original timetable. Summary results are as follows:
