Important Revision to 2012 Draft Regulations

Following detailed discussions with the MSA the proposed wording of Section 5.9.3 in the 2012 Draft Regulations relating to reverse gears will revert to the same requirement as in previous years; ie it becomes:

"5.9.3 All vehicles in all classes must be fitted with an operational means of reversing under its own power with the driver seated in the normal driving position."

The MSA has made it clear that having an operable reverse gear is a safety requirement for racing. Obviously this means that entrants must ensure that their cars comply with this regulation.

This revision is included in Version 3 of the Draft 2012 Championship Regulations. These remain draft until approved by the MSA and published in final form.
