| Simon Davey Announces
Plans For 2012
Having returned from the Richard Petty Experience at
Phoenix, Simon Davey has approached the treasurer suggesting
that additional Monoposto races be held at Rockingham on the
full oval for the newly created "MonoNascar" class.
Meanwhile, Richard Petty (pictured above with Torino
in 1969) issued a statement: "I have been a long term
admirer of Simon Davey. I have had some success in the USA
but can only stand in awe at the championships Simon has put
under his cowboy hat. I have therefore booked on the "Simon
Davey Experience" at Mallory Park." The Simon Davey
Experience is available for £1,000 and includes 2 laps
in a diesel Astra van, 5 laps in the Swift with a 4500 rev
limit, personal abuse coaching from Simon, and tea
with a piece of cake in the Mono awning. |

Insurance
- A Warning
Just a bit of serious stuff amongst the facetious captions. As
you know, it is now mandatory for car insurance to run without a
break. So many people place reliance on reminders from their insurers/brokers.
Last year, Sainsbury's sent me one reminder a month before renewal
and then 2 more a week and 10 days after renewal.
Whether they wanted to lose an "any driver" policy or
UK Mail just lost the letters, I can't say. It was, however, better
than the brokers I moved to, who sorted out an any driver policy,
then didn't bother to communicate at all when the insurer stopped
doing such policies. I only found out because I rang them on another
matter.
Moral: Don't place any reliance on your insurance company or
broker. Make a diary note.
