| Roadbook Organisation:
rather three but one…
We received this email from the Spa oranisers, Roadbook.be, which
could be of interest to those thinking of doing Spa. Blow the cobwebs
off that M3/911/MP4.12C/Diesel Golf/Standard 8 and do
a test day at the world's greatest track. The article does not state the
noise limit, so perhaps a single seater could run in March? Probably best
to ask first.
One of the most prestigious actors on the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps
is Roadbook Organisation, who started its preparation on the 2012 season
already a long time ago. As it was the case in previous years, three major
events are marked with red on the calendar: the Open Pitlane in less than
a month, the Spa Summer Classic mid June and last but not least, the 20th
anniversary of the Spa Six Hours by the end of September.
Once more, Vincent Collard and Alain Defalle have the honour to start
the season of the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. On Saturday, the 17th
of March, the Open Pitlane event will take place and gives the occasion
to every driver of a historical or modern car to enjoy what still is the
most beautiful track in the world.
“The Open Pitlane offers a perfect occasion to get the cars back
out after a long winter. Participants will enjoy the good ambiance in
the paddock area of Spa-Francorchamps”, explains Vincent Collard.
“This is a day without attitude. Everyone is welcome to discover
the track or to drive on the track they know so well. There is no timing
and everyone is free to organize his day as he likes. Companies, professionally
involved in automotive, can welcome their clients and offer test drives.
There is a range of possibilities on this day and that is what ensures
the success of this meeting. The entries are already open and the easiest
way to join us, is surfing to www.roadbook.be,
and click on Open Pitlane.”
For teams and drivers! Spa Summer Classic: 15, 16 & 17 June
In only a few years time, the Spa Summer Classic, has become a major event
on the calendar of drivers and teams involved in historical racing. “The
time is already complete, with no less than 11 series confirmed”,
tells Alain Defalle. “It will be an action packed weekend, with
a lot of action… on track. This is not the same style of meeting
as the Spa Six Hours, as there is no major series or ‘most important’
race. The meeting hosts races for single seaters (Formula Ford Kent and
Zetec, Formula 3, Monoposto…), touring cars and GT’s. The
stars of the meeting are the drivers and the teams. The access for the
public is free, but we don’t offer the same style of happening as
we do with our event in September.”
20 years is something special… Spa Six Hours: 21, 22 &
23 September
Promotion will be the key word for the biggest event for historical racecars
on the racetrack of Francorchamps: the Spa Six Hours. This well-known
event will celebrate its 20th anniversary on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of
September. “Never change a winning formula: the spectators will
again enjoy the races of historical F1 cars, Can-Am, Group C and of course
the Spa Six Hours, with over a hundred GT’s and touring cars.”
To celebrate 20 years of success, Roadbook Organisation will put even
more effort in all the animation for the drivers, teams and the public
during the weekend. “This celebration will be worth a 20th anniversary”,
say Vincent Collard. “We will again collaborate with Fédération
Belge des Véhicules Anciens (FBVA) and all the clubs for oldtimers,
our partners since many, many years.”
It’s obvious that Roadbook Organisation will need all the time from
now on until the end of October to perform as strong as possible!
